We emphasize quality over quantity in our school program. Rather than having a lesson string of questionable quality we prefer to have a few top notch school horses and ponies to get riders started or re-started in their riding careers. We typically have one school horse and two ponies who are safe, reliable schoolmasters with extensive show records.
Sid (City Girl) really has done it all. She is an older Thoroughbred mare who started her show career owned by a member of the Mexican Olympic team. After being imported to the US she showed in the junior jumpers and then moved on to the 3'6 equitation. She spent several years showing successfully in the children's hunters before becoming our school horse. She now patiently imparts her years of wisdom to adults and children alike.
Prince (Aladdin) is an adorable 14 year old paint pony. Before coming to us he had a long career in the child's pony hunters and short stirrups. In the year he has been at Millennium Farm he has taught multiple children from their first lunge lesson through jumping full courses. This summer he took two girls to their first horse shows and won many ribbons with both of them, including the championship of the walk trot pole division at Woodside.
